Academic research is an important part of the learning environment. In collaboration with various partners within and outside the institution, UTSA Research offers many professional development opportunities for faculty, staff and students. We also organize and facilitate conferences and symposiums here on campus, bringing in leading researchers and outside experts to the UTSA community. Topics cover a broad range within the Humanities, the Social Sciences and in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. Conferences also provide a great networking opportunity with the San Antonio research community and outside one’s discipline, which may result in new collaborations and research projects or discovering new funding opportunities and models. For students, it is an opportunity to perhaps present for the first time a poster or abstract, to learn outside the classroom, and to network with possible mentors, making those connections within their field of study with industry partners.
This spring, UTSA Research is hosting the following conferences on campus. Faculty registration is either free or subject to a nominal fee. Student registration is free for the majority of these conferences however there may be a selection process in place. There are also numerous opportunities to present posters and abstracts.
