(Jan. 8, 2018) -- In fiscal year 2016-2017, UTSA grew its institutional research portfolio, engaged more students, and built partnerships with industry and government to expand funded research, leading UTSA research expenditures to reach an institutional record high.
Total research expenditures increased from US $56.8 million in FY 2016 to US $68.1 million in FY 2017, an uptick of 19.9 percent. The university’s restricted research expenditures grew from US $36.4 million in FY 2016 to US $40.1 million in FY 2017. ...

TSERI Receives Sustainable Research Funding from CPS Energy
Researchers at UTSA have begun work on five new research initiatives to enhance clean energy production/integration, improve air quality and reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the Strategic Alliance between the Texas Sustainable Energy Research Institute (TSERI) and CPS Energy, established in 2010.

Adel Alaeddini, assistant professor of mechanical engineering at The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), has received a $441,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to support his top-tier research in preventing multiple chronic conditions.
