Kurt Steuck, PhD: Data Collection and Participatory Evaluation Methods

February 11, 2016 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am CST

Kurt Steuck, PhD, an external evaluator on six UTSA projects, will conduct three professional development sessions on planning evaluations of sponsored research projects. Each session will be two hours in length with a mix of presentation, short activities, and question and answer time.

Title: Data Collection and Participatory Evaluation Methods

The goal of these faculty development sessions is to increase UTSA’s capacity to create the evaluation plans for proposals being submitted to Federal agencies, such as the National Science Foundation. The sessions will focus on creating evaluation plans, estimating the evaluation budget, and working with external evaluators who are now required in many research and training grant solicitations. At the end of the workshops, attendees will be more able to:

+ Draft the required evaluation sections for the body of a proposal
+ Draft a highly recommend detailed evaluation plan for the supplemental documents
+ Estimate the costs for the project evaluation
+ Request relevant information from an external evaluator
+ Collaborate with an external evaluator on potential data collection methods

Location: Main Campus, John Peace Library, JPL Assembly Room
