All trainee, fellow, participants, and scholars receiving support through NIH and NSF awards are required to complete the 8 hours of face-to-face training in the responsible conduct of research, or ethical and professional behavior in scientific research.  Because you receive funding from NIH or NSF, you are responsible for ensuring that your staff complete this requirement.  The training requirement must be fulfilled within the first year after an award has been made and before the student or research member completes or departs the project.  The training requirement must be renewed every four years and after a change in status, such as from undergraduate to graduate student.

Note that faculty are always welcome, but not required, to attend the training.

To register: please send email to jason.futrell@utsa.edu or CCOI@utsa.edu.

The Office of Research Integrity offers training opportunities to ensure that you meet the requirements of your funding agency.  Please know that UTSA is required to track and verify training of all students and research staff funded on these awards.
