San Antonio K-12 & UTSA Research Networking Luncheon

January 31 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm CST

| Free

Partnerships between higher education and K-12 schools can go beyond traditional high-school-to-college transitions or dual credit programs. The K-12 environment can be a valuable resource for researchers looking for data and participants for their studies. Data from schools can provide an alternative to national data sets which might not provide the specific information needed. Additionally, schools can benefit from having experts providing guidance and introducing new concepts and ideas to students and teachers. Additionally, funders like the National Science Foundation often require researchers to discuss how the research they fund has a broader impact in their particular field or by engaging a wider audience. Accordingly, K-12 schools can help researchers meet their broader impact goals by providing an opportunity to interact with new audiences.

This networking event will provide an opportunity for researchers and educators to discuss opportunities and needs that they both have, and plan for how they could collaborate to meet them.
