High-Impact and Distinguished Research Paper

The UTSA Academy of Distinguished Researchers (ADR) has established the High-Impact and Distinguished Research Paper Awards. Each year, the Academy may award a High-Impact Research Paper Award to one paper from each college. The Academy may also award a Distinguished Research Paper Certificate for the runner-up paper from each college.

This call is for UTSA College Deans. Papers are evaluated based on originality, rigor, significance, and delivery. Only papers accepted for publication in the last three years are eligible for the award (in some fields, papers accepted for conference publication are eligible for the award).

These awards, like the Academy itself, seek to foster and promote excellence in research, discovery, and training; advance and sustain The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) as a premier research university; and promote the values of research excellence, integrity, inclusiveness, collaboration, creativity, and ingenuity.

Eligibility

• Each college dean can nominate up to two papers from faculty whose primary appointment resides within their respective college.
• Faculty nominees must be full-time faculty at UTSA in residence at the time of publication date.
  
  • Co-authors may be from external institutions; however, they are not eligible to receive the award.
• Only papers accepted within the last 3 calendar years, 2020-2023.
• High-quality and leading academic journals will be eligible unless the academic field primarily recognizes conferences (e.g., computer science and computer engineering), in which case papers accepted into a leading conference will be eligible.
• Papers by current members of the Academy of Distinguished Researchers (ADR) are not eligible to win awards.

Award Information

• Estimated number of Financial Awards: Six (6) High-Impact Research Paper Awards and one Recognition Certificate per college. Subject to availability of funds.
• The winning High-Impact Research Paper award: $1,000.00 per paper and a recognition certificate. (The financial award will be equally distributed among UTSA co-authors.)
• The High-Impact Research Award recipients will be honored at the annual ADR membership induction ceremony. Please note, as an internal award, ADR will only recognize current UTSA Authors/Co-Authors at the ceremony.
