UTSA Proposal Processing

When you do decide to apply for external funding, please contact your Research Service Center to initiate the UTSA proposal submission process.

When applying for a grant:

  • Read the Program Solicitation and the instructions very carefully.
  • Work with your advisor/mentor to assess whether you’re ready to apply and to prepare your application.
  • Contact your Research Service Center at least two weeks prior to the due date.
  • Complete  the Conflict of Interest http://research.utsa.edu/research-funding/conflict-of-interest/coi-training/login/
  • Complete Disclosure of Financial Interest https://oric.utsa.edu click “File a New Disclosure”.
  • Create a profile in *Cayuse and link with UTSA http://research.utsa.edu/research-funding/cayuse/ (*Cayuse is a secure web solution/software package for preparing and submitting federal grants proposals.)
    • Complete routing form and confirm information with your Advisor. https://comal.it.utsa.edu/routing/login.php
    • Proposal will be created in Cayuse under Advisor’s name for internal routing/approval.
  • Submit application by due date, send final copy and confirmation email to the Research Service Center.
