Responsible Conduct of Research

The responsible conduct of research (RCR) training is intended to sensitize students and staff involved in research to a wide range of ethical and professional issues in order to foster integrity and deter scholarly misconduct. Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training is required of all students and research staff funded by NSF or NIH. All faculty, staff, and students are welcome to participate in the training as well.

Information

UTSA is provides several training sessions throughout the year, typically held immediately prior to the start of the academic semester. The course is scheduled for a consecutive afternoon and morning, totaling 8 hours of classroom time. Contact ORI at (210) 458-6506 or via Email at . Additional RCR Training

The Online curriculum through CITI provides five different courses that are tailored to specific disciplines. The five available courses include:
  • CITI Biomedical Research RCR Course
  • CITI Social and Behavioral Research RCR Course
  • CITI Physical Science RCR Course
  • CITI Humanities RCR Course
  • CITI Engineering and Computing RCR Course

Note: Other ethics courses are available through CITI and you are welcome to take as many as you wish.

If you have used CITI prior to UTSA having SSO, please proceed to login to CITI and select UTSA for SSO login instructions. Please check your CITI account profile and verify that the UTSA network account ID is your MyUTSA ID (abc123). For first time CITI users, you will need to create a login ID and password and make note of these for future reference.
Access CITI RCR Course
All UTSA employees and students have a MyUTSA ID (abc123) and should use Single Sign-On (SSO) to ensure that the course record is linked to your UTSA Training Log.
