National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD)

UTSA has an institutional membership in the National Center for Faculty Development & Diversity (NCFDD). The NCFDD is a nationally recognized, independent organization that provides online career development and mentoring resources.

Our institutional membership provides access for all UTSA faculty, staff, postdoctoral scholars, and graduate students to utilize the NCFDD’s broad range of online virtual programs and resources.

To unlock your free Institutional Membership account, please complete the following:

  1. Click here
  2. Choose “The University of Texas at San Antonio” from the drop-down menu
  3. Select “Activate my Membership”
  4. Complete the registration form using your UTSA email address (that e-mail address mustinclude @utsa.edu)
  5. Log in to your UTSA email account to find a confirmation/welcome email. Click “Activate Account” in the email.

The NCFDD’s core curriculum is designed to support the development of the 10 skills and strategies that lead to academic success, including:

  • Developing a consistent daily writing habit;
  • Planning and prioritizing for success;
  • Resolving conflict in a healthy way;
  • Cultivating a broad network of mentors, sponsors and collaborators;
  • Managing time in ways that are aligned with evaluation criteria;
  • Getting organized to promote productivity;
  • Learning the art of saying “no;” and
  • Understanding the process for successful grant writing, journal, book publishing, etc.

  • Weekly Monday Motivator
  • Monthly Core Curriculum Webinars
  • Monthly Guest Expert Webinars
  • Access to Multi-Week Courses
  • Access to Dissertation Success Curriculum for graduate students
  • Private Discussion Forum for peer-mentoring, problem-solving, & moderated writing challenges
  • Monthly accountability buddy matches
  • Access to 14-day Writing Challenges
  • Access to the Member Library, which includes past webinar materials, referrals, and readings

We will periodically be monitoring the extent to which this membership is utilized and may solicit feedback about the usefulness of the NCFDD’s resources for the UTSA community through surveys or other assessment tools.
