In August 2018, President Taylor Eighmy launched a Presidential Initiative on Research Excellence. Among the slate of targets for this initiative is faculty awards. As such, the Office of the Vice President for Research, Economic Development and Knowledge Enterprise (VPREDKE) is offering an incentive for faculty who are recipients of the following awards and recognitions.
Please read this memo for further information about the incentive program.
Incentive Eligibility and Instructions
- A listing of awards and other recognitions that are currently part of this incentive program is provided below.
- Any faculty applying for these opportunities should complete a Notification Form.
- If selected for an award or other recognition through one of these programs, a copy of the official notification must be emailed to ors@utsa.edu. This will initiate the salary supplement process.
- One-time, taxable salary supplements will be awarded in the amount of $5,000 per eligible award or recognition received.
- Salary supplements will be awarded on a bi-annual basis – in the April pay period (issued May 1) for awards/recognitions received September – February, and in the October pay period (issued Nov. 1) for awards/recognitions received March – August.
- Only those faculty who receive these awards/designations while employed at UTSA are eligible for this incentive.
- All aspects of this program will be reviewed for update on an annual basis. If NRUF or CMUP requirements are revised mid-year, additional opportunities may be considered for inclusion in this program.
Questions related to this opportunity should be directed to: Liana.Ryan@utsa.edu.
