Meet Our Director

Ms. Manning serves as the Director of Research Financial Administration and provides leadership, development, administrative and financial management for the Office of the Vice President of Research offices. With 18 years experience in public higher education she began her career as a Research Administrator in 1991 with the Texas A&M Research Foundation. Ms. Manning has a wide variety of experiences including extensive trans-university negotiations in her role as a Contract Administrator with the Texas Engineering Experiment Station. She spent 6 years at the A&M System Administrative and General Offices and worked with the System Comptroller to develop, maintain and implement an automated and integrated annual financial reporting system and conducted system-wide training. She joined UTSA in 2006 as the Office of Sponsored Programs first negotiator before assuming her current role in 2008. Ms. Manning obtained her Bachelor′s degree in Accounting at Texas A&M University and has served in various research administrative roles for over a decade. She has served as Vice Chair and Treasurer of the Texas Chapter of the Society of Research Administrators and is currently a member of the National Council of University Research Administrators. Ms. Manning also serves on various UTSA committees, including UTSA′s Cost Containment Committee and the University Excellence Awards Committee.
