Targeted scholarly awards are nationally-recognized awards, fellowships, memberships, residencies and other prizes and accolades. These awards can be highly impactful, not only for UT San Antonio's visibility but also for advancing your research and career.
Incentive
To advance the presidential initiative on research excellence and to compensate award winners for their efforts in the award application process, the Office for Research and Innovation offers a one-time, taxable, $5,000 salary supplement to each faculty member who receives an award from the list below. The supplement is disbursed approximately 2 months after the award notification.
Support
Pursuing major national or international recognition can feel intimidating, but you don’t have to do it alone. The Office of Faculty Research Development (FRD) supports the planning, logistics and coordination of the application process, allowing you to focus on the work itself.
The FRD team provides personalized support for eligible, competitive faculty based on the needs of each award. Services include:
- A dedicated project manager to guide the process
- Clear timelines and planning support
- Document management and editing
- Help securing required nomination letters
- Coordination with internal offices and external contact
- Final application submission support, if needed
Whether you need comprehensive project management or simply a thorough review of your materials, the FRD team is dedicated to ensuring a smoother and more approachable management of your application.
