Industry Partnerships

Welcome to Industry Partnerships

The Office of Commercialization and Innovation promotes strong university-industry partnerships by providing UTSA faculty and inventors opportunities to match their research and commercialization interests with industry needs. OCI facilitates campus visits, seminars, and events for companies looking to work with UTSA researchers. OCI also serves as the UTSA liaison for UT System’s Texas FreshAIR (Academia Industry Roundtable) events.

For small companies seeking to work closely with the university, OCI runs a New Venture Incubator, and has experience matching translational research interests with open topics for technology development grant programs such as SBIR/STTR, and Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs.

Technologies Needed by Industry Partners

At the Association of University Technology Managers (AUTM) meeting in February, UTSA’s Office of Commercialization and Innovation (OCI) met with many potential industry partners who are actively looking to license technology. OCI made an effort to understand what kinds of technologies companies were looking to add to their portfolios, and bring that information back to UTSA. Below you will find a list of technologies and areas of research interest to potential technology licensing partners. If you feel you have recent innovations related to these areas please contact the Office of Commercialization and Innovation at (210) 458-6963 to file a technology disclosure form.
