Physical Safety
This manual covers basic physical safety and hazard awareness of what you might face in labs or areas with a lot or a little bit of industrial environments or equipment. It is a broad brushstroke of risks you could be exposed to. It is not all inclusive. However, if there are additional topics or concerns not covered in this manual that you would like addressed, please inform the Laboratory Safety Division.
UTSA is held to some state and federal regulations that define safety in the physical domain. What is not covered in mandatory regulations, UTSA will adopt to provide sound safety or business practices. In addition, UTSA develops site specific plans and procedures that support the diverse research at the institution. This plan is part of overall collaborative efforts between administration and faculty who strive to create a positive safety culture at the institution.
