Field Safety
Research and education in laboratories and off campus fieldwork involves a variety of hazards. It is policy of UTSA to protect and promote the health and safety of students and employees as well as the environment. The Field Safety Program outlines basic good laboratory safety practices, institution specific procedures, federal and state guidelines, and references to other information sources for work in laboratories or off-campus fieldwork. The Field Safety Program provides resources such a safety manual, online training, fieldwork plan template and checklists to help researchers and students better prepare for their fieldwork.
