Date:
Friday March 01, 2024 8AM - 4PM
Location:
UTSA School of Data Science | San Pedro I (with all-day free parking)
Details:

Hosted by the UTSA Office of the Vice President of Research, the R&D League Applied Research Symposium will bring together academic and scientific researchers with City of San Antonio (COSA) departments and agencies to identify alignments on priorities and opportunities for future research, publication, and grant collaborations.

The symposium will showcase past collaborations including projects from $1.5 million in COSA funding to UTSA researchers, provide insight into city priorities and initiatives, and offer multiple opportunities for conversation on how we can partner on addressing these challenges facing our city.

Morning plenary sessions will provide an overview of the R&D League and how our organizations work together, a showcase of key projects, and leadership conversations on how these partnerships can improve the lives of San Antonio residents. The afternoon will offer breakout panels featuring panelists from COSA departments discussing the work and needs for City initiatives around critical topics. Following the panels will be working sessions based on the same topic, with facilitators guiding active conversations to find alignment, share ideas, and convene teams for future collaborations. Lunch will offer further opportunities for networking and discussions.

Panel themes are being finalized now but possible panel/workshop tracks may include:
