About Internal Funding Opportunities
The Office of Research administers many annual internal funding opportunities, also referred to as “seed grants.” More information regarding internal funding opportunities, including the most recent program guidance and previous awardees, can be found below. Note: The NOI deadline listed below is a separate and distinct process from notification for application development and approval before submission. All submissions for Internal Funding Opportunities must meet the Office of Sponsored Project’s 15/5 rule.
Currently Open Programs
FY 26 IIMS CTR Pilot Project (October 2025 – July 31, 2026)
Eligible: Active faculty-level appointment at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio (UTHSCSA) or one of its CTSA partner/collaborator institutions (the University of Texas at San Antonio)
The Institute for Integration of Medicine & Science (IIMS) is soliciting proposals for pilot project awards. The primary goal of this program is to support early-stage, collaborative, translational, and clinical studies that will lead to increased interdisciplinary, institutional, and community-based research likely to compete successfully for national grant support and ultimately to improve human health.
Collaboration Requirement: Applicants from partner institutions must include a meaningful collaboration with a UTHSCSA Co-Investigator.
