Faculty Travel Award

My summer travel takes place between July – August, am I eligible to apply for the Faculty Travel Program?  
  • Yes! Our travel program operates on a fiscal year basis, running from July 2 of the current year through July 1 of the following year. To accommodate summer travel, we typically open the next fiscal year’s program in March or April of the current year. As a result, travel taking place between July and August is eligible, but must be applied to under the upcoming fiscal year’s travel program, not the current one.
  • FOR EXAMPLE: If you plan on traveling from July 2, 2026 – July 17, 2026, you should apply for the FY27 Research Faculty Travel Support Program.
It is April and I see that the FY27 Research Faculty Travel Support Program is open. I know I will be traveling to a conference in September. Can I submit my application now?  
Do I get reimbursed directly?  
My trip was cancelled and I didn’t use my award; do I have to notify your office?  
If I ended up not using my award and have another trip planned during the award period, can I use my funds for the other trip?  

Applying for a Seed Grant

Couldn't submit a letter of intent to InfoReady in time, can I still apply?  
  • If you miss the letter of intent deadline, email SeedGrants@utsa.edu as soon as you can and/or notice.
I submitted my NOI to the Research Dashboard/OSP, does that count?  
Do I have to follow the Office of Sponsored Projects 15/5 rule?

Can I collaborate with faculty at the Health Campus?
