Submit your new protocols through Cayuse IRB.

All protocols submitted before Sept.15, 2020 will be maintained using existing forms. If you have questions, contact the Senior Research Compliance Coordinator at irb@utsa.edu.

As part of our commitment to research excellence and participant safety, UTSA is launching a Post Approval Monitoring (PAM) program. This proactive approach used by leading research institutions nationwide will help ensure ongoing compliance with federal guidelines and strengthen the integrity of our human subjects research.

Each month, 1–2 approved studies will be randomly selected for a brief, not-for-cause review. PAM is not intended to be punitive; rather, it’s an opportunity to support researchers, confirm required documentation is in place and reinforce our shared commitment to ethical, high-quality research.

To help us efficiently process IRB submissions and requests, the IRB Office has designated Thursday afternoons from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. for dedicated, uninterrupted review time. During these hours, phone calls, emails, appointments and help labs will not be available. Thank you for your patience and understanding. This time helps us more quickly process your requests and better support your research.
