How Do I Become a KAMC User?

To schedule a reservation or request services, all Users must sign in through the iLab scheduling system which requires the one-time creation of an iLab Profile. Please contact KAMC staff for all reservation questions.

How to create an iLab Profile

Registration for Principal Investigators (PIs)

Navigate to the UTSA iLab Homepage and select the green "login" button at the top-right to register using your myUTSA ID (abc123) credentials.

  • If you are a PI with a Project ID assigned to you in PeopleSoft, your account will be available for you upon the first-time login. The associated fund numbers (speedtypes) will automatically populate to your Group/Lab account and must be activated for use per member.
  • If you are NOT a PI with a Project ID, you will need to specify during registration by selecting "Create New Group" to set up your account as a Lab Owner.

All fund information is automatically imported nightly and must have a positive budget balance. Please contact our UTSA iLab Support Team if the desired fund account is not available in our system.

Registration for Non-PI Users

  1. Navigate to the UTSA iLab Homepage and select the green "login" button at the top-right to register using your myUTSA ID (abc123) credentials.
  2. Fill out the iLab registration fields in the pop-up window. Select your PI Group/Lab and verify your contact information.
  3. Once your registration is submitted, the PI and Lab Manager will receive a notification that you have requested membership to the Group/Lab.
    Before you can use core facility resources, your PI/Lab Manager will need to:
    1. Approve your membership
    2. Assign/activate funds to your account (Speedtypes=Project ID/Cost Center)

How to Create a Service Request

  1. Log-in using your UTSA ID and Passphrase.
  2. Select the Request Services tab and search your name. Complete the requested fields.
  3. You will be asked to complete a form and provide payment information for your request before submitting the request to the core.
  4. Your request will be pending until reviewed by the core.

How to Create an Equipment Reservation

  1. Log-in using your UTSA ID and Passphrase.
  2. Select the Schedule Equipment tab and click on the View Schedule button next to the instrument of interest. Click and drag the time frame you would like to schedule your reservation.
  3. A window will pop up that allows you to verify your reservation details and provide payment information before saving the reservation.
  4. Your reservation will need to be approved by the core. You can confirm this by viewing your homepage (click the Home button in the upper left corner of the iLab window).
